VIRGINIA BEACH LIFEGUARD ASSOCIATION (VBLA)

MISSION: The Virginia Beach Lifeguard Association (VBLA) - Junior Lifeguard Camp - is committed to teaching the fundamentals of beach safety, first aid and environmental awareness. The camp's priorities are Safety - Fun -  Education. The Junior Lifeguard Campers will learn from and sometimes along side current Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service (VBLS) Lifeguards gaining a true sense of the role, responsibilities and reward of today’s surf lifesavers.

Eligibility: 

• Campers are eligible as long as they turn 9 years old during the 2026 Calendar Year.

• Every camper should be able to swim 100 meters continuously and be confident in their swimming abilities in the ocean.
